"Draw near to God and He will draw near to you." James 4:8
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Phil. 4:6-7
The Prayer Ministry Team prays for those in need at the 10:30 Communion service on the first Sunday of each month. Also at other public meetings, such as Sunday morning worship, conferences and other special events, the Pastor or guest leading the meeting may invite people forward for ministry. At these times, the Pastor often offers to have someone pray with them. The Prayer Ministry Team is a group of individuals released by the leadership of the church for these purposes.
The PMT meets together on a regular basis to become equipped to do the work of the ministry, to be able to preach the good news to the poor that the Kingdom of God is here, to press in further in learning to pray for healing the sick, binding up the broken-hearted, and to praise God for His unending grace.
Each of us seeks to see Jesus glorified in our lives and pursue God’s heart. We pray for one another. We explore Biblical prayer models, prophetic prayer and healing prayer. We seek to know the presence of God in our lives, corporately and individually, here and in the community, so that when we minister, the person being ministered to will leave knowing, most of all, that God loves them.
Requirements for participation on the Prayer Ministry Team:
Each member of the Prayer Ministry Team is a born-again, Spirit-filled Christian, who is committed to and financially supporting the ministry of VVUMC and its Pastor.
Candidates should be actively involved in one of theCluster Groups or other ministries of VVUMC. Cluster Groups are the best place to establish yourself as accountable and responsible to your brothers and sisters in the Body of Christ and for gifts to be recognized and encouraged.
