At VVUMC we take membership seriously. Membership can be summed up in one word.... commitment. Christ himself was committed to the church... in Ephesians 5:25 it says "... Christ loved the church, and he gave his life for it." VVUMC recognizes the need for a formal membership to indicate your commitment to our local church family. We welcome every person to be a member, which moves you from being a "guest" to being a "host" for others who, like you, have come to look VVUMC over.
- Make sure you enjoy the people and pastor of the church
- There are three ways to make your membership plans known:
- A request on the Red Pads that are passed out for church attendance can be checked.
- You can fill out a "Hey Bob" note stating "I wish to join"
- You can call the office at (760) 245-7902 between 9:00am-3:00 pm
-
Service of Membership is any Sunday after the first Sunday of the month.
- Requirements: a public statement of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of your life and Holy Baptism. Other than this, there are no requirements. Our theological persuasion in the Methodist Church is from far left to far right and everything in between. We celebrate with those who have open minds, open hearts our open doors.
- We do offer a Membership Class three to four times a year but it is not necessary to have completed this class to join VVUMC.
- You may be a member of another United Methodist Church and transfer your membership from that church to VVUMC.
- It is possible to have an Associate Membership, but this should be discussed with the Pastor-in-Charge of VVUMC.
